Dodge Repair: Driver side window motor replacement, crank removal tool, dodge ram 1500


Question
QUESTION: I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500. The window motor went out on me with the window in down position. How would i go about replacing that motor? thank you.

ANSWER: old style or new style trucks?

QUESTION: i dont understand that question? its a 2002 dodge ram 1500

ANSWER: 02 is the only year to which u have a new and an old body style that was made  the new 02 was made half way through the year  its still and 02. If u give me the vin it will tell me what U have and I can get the instructions to u.

QUESTION: Oh Ok sorry about that! its the New Body Style truck. i hadnt known that about the 2002. if having the vin would better assist you ill get for you.

REMOVAL
Remove the window crank, if equipped. (WINDOW CRANK REMOVAL TOOL)
Remove the interior handle. (Refer to 23 - BODY/DOOR - FRONT/INSIDE HANDLE ACTUATOR - REMOVAL)
Remove the screws at the mirror flag and near the inside handle. (TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY)
CAUTION: Trim panel is attached to the door using hooks molded into the panel. Do not pull the trim panel straight off or damage to the panel and/or power switch assembly may occur.

Lift the trim panel up off the belt seal and attachment hooks and separate the panel from the door slightly.
Disconnect the power window switch electrical connector, if equipped, and remove the trim panel.


REMOVAL
Remove the waterdam. (Refer to 23 - BODY/DOOR - FRONT/WATERDAM - REMOVAL)
Remove the window switch from the door trim panel and reconnect it to the door harness.
Raise the window to the position shown and remove the nuts. (DOOR GLASS POSITIONING)
Disengage the door glass from the regulator lift plate and position into the full up position.
Secure the glass in the up position using a wood wedge or equivalent.
Lower the regulator.
Remove the stabilizer nuts.
Remove the forward regulator bolt and loosen the other two. (WINDOW REGULATOR - POWER)
Slide the regulator up and out of the keyhole slots in the door panel.
Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the regulator.
