Questioni have a 99 dodge 2500 with 4x4 diesel.... i need to replace key cylinder.... how
do i remove the old one?? and any tricks replacing the new one??

The ignition key must be in the key cylinder for cylinder removal.
KEY CYLINDER REMOVAL
Disconnect negative cable from battery.
If equipped with tilt column, remove tilt lever by turning it counterclockwise.
Remove upper and lower covers (shrouds) from steering column Shroud Removal/Installation - Typical
If equipped with automatic transmission, place shifter in PARK position.
A retaining pin Retaining Pin is located at side of key cylinder assembly.
Rotate key to RUN position.
Press in on retaining pin while pulling key cylinder from ignition switch
