Dodge Repair: 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan CD Player, dodge grand caravan, 2005 dodge grand caravan

Question
Hello Kevin,

My '05 Dodge Grand Caravan had a single disc CD player.  While I was cleaning the van out one weekend my son decided that the CD slot was perfect for change to be slide into.  I thought I got all of the change out but was mistaken.  We placed a CD into the player and it started making noises and then just quit playing. I was able to get the CD out but it was scratched pretty bad.

My question is two-fold.  Did the CD player get ruined by running with the change in there?

And how do you remove the CD player so I can remove the rest of the change? (Plese don't tell me I have to take out the whole front dash.)

Answer
REMOVAL
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
Remove cup holder.
Remove trim panel above cupholder by pulling straight out.
Remove center instrument panel trim panel.
Remove screws holding radio to instrument panel.
Pull radio rearward to gain access to the back of radio (RADIO).
CAUTION: Pulling the antenna cable straight out of the radio without pulling on the locking antenna connector could damage the cable or radio.

Disconnect the antenna cable by pulling the locking antenna connector away from the radio (ANTENNA TO RADIO).
Disconnect the wire connectors from the back of the radio.
