Dodge Repair: 1999 dodge stratus 2.4 motor, radiator fan motor, radiator leak

Question
I have a 1999 dodge stratus with a 2.4 that is overheating. I took out the thermostat and left in the ring to seal the connection. Overheating continues. I let it get warm enough to turn the radiator fan motor on. I noticed the fan on the left that blows across the exhaust manifold was blowing on high but the fan on the right was not blowing. My questions are these: Is the fan on the right for the transmission radiator? How do I check the temperature switch for the fans? Should I flush the radiator and take a chance on dislodging debris and causing a leak? If there is a radiator leak should I use any stop leak product? Please contribute any other answers you feel might solve this problem.  Thanks you

Answer
stick with the fan issue first why put stop leak in unless u have a leak  do u??  and I would not put that stuff in any why  it will only cause more probs down the road. Does that other fan even come on at any point in time?  with ac on  yes ,no?  What about how hard is to to turn the fan by yours hands  harder then the other?
