Dodge Repair: Stratus heater problem, coolant level, temperature cable

Question
Hello experts,

I have a 2000 (2.7L V6) Stratus and the heater is not working. I've read a lot of posts but haven't found the exact symptoms. So here's what I've done / found out.

The engine temperature is in the normal range when driving. All the fan controls work (except the temperature of course) in terms of speeds and locations. I checked both heater core hoses and both are equally hot. Coolant level is full. HELP!!

I was going to flush the core even though both hoses were hot but was afraid that even if I could get the hoses off I wouldn't be able to get them back on again due to their location.

Thanks much,
Bob

Answer
sounds like a temp door  or cable issue  here is the steps to get access to the door itself  see if u can move it with your hand, SO u would be looking at the cable,ac head, blend air door. Get access to this stuff and u can go from there on what the prob is. Once u get to the door  fire the car up and move it see if the temp changes from hot to cold or u can do this at the ac head cable end move it back and forth.

TEMPERATURE DOOR CABLE
The blend-air (temperature) door is actuated by a cable which mechanically positions the temperature door.

The temperature door actuator is located at the center of the A/C Heater housing at the center tunnel.
