Dodge Repair: Recharging AC system, recharging ac, dodge stratus

Hi Kevin,
I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus SE that has been having issues with the AC, cold air comes and goes randomly. I've been told that it needs to be recharged and that this is a fairly simple task. I would like to do it myself and have purchased a gauge & refrigerant but I'm having trouble locating the low pressure port of the AC system. I know it can be dangerous if I connect to the wrong port. Can you help me locate the correct port? Also, is this something that I sould be doing myself?

who told u to recharge the system  a tech  or a buddy?
The stuff that u got is only for the low side  and u can put the stuff on the high side because its bigger then the low side. Fallow lines from the compressor to the firewall and the ports will be on the line some where in between.
