Dodge Repair: chrysler neon rebuild problems!, chrysler neon, manual gearbox

Question
hey there, I have just replaced my engine on a 1996 chrysler neon with an auto engine, still kept the manual gearbox and everything is done but im not getting a spark, engine turns fine, fuel is pumping to the injector rail but no spark. I checked the ecu and it had lots of oil on the terminals, it must have been like that b4 but ran fine. Ive change the ecu over from the auto and tried again but still no spark, also swapped the cam sensor, still nothin! Any suggestions would be greatful. regards Yogi

Answer
Hi,
Are you getting fire to the coil pack?  Check to see that you have not pinched any wires in the wiring harness.  A sensor tester is very cheep.  You can get one and check any kind of sensors.  An Automatic PCM will not work on a standard tranny.  Check all of the sensors with a sensor tester before replacing any of them.  The cam sensor is different on an auto than on a standard also.
