Dodge Repair: 96 Grand Voyager SE 3L V6, grand voyager, contaminated fuel

Question
I started having problems with the van while driving. It will sputter and stall. Sometimes it will start right away, other times if I leave it sit and go back and it will start. It usually starts struggling when reaching 50 mph.

I recently had a complete tune up on the van (within the past month) and they changed everything... ended up costing me $500 for the tune-up and then this.

I suspect that it may be a fuel pump but was looking for a second opinion. Any thoughts?

Answer
fuel restrictions are most likely...............or contaminated fuel........with recent gas prices (enough to make you cry) more and more people are running their cars down to near empty, and are picking up water and debris out of the bottoms of their tanks that will restrict the fuel filter and sometimes completley stop it up.

I ran in to a similar problem recently on my wife's taurus; she inherited the car from her aunt's estate, but the car sat up ro 14 months with only occasional driving to keep the battery charged.  As a result, with the fuel tank only partially filled, rust residue formed on the exposed walls of the fuel tank, and when we started driving the car and filling the tank up it washed this residue off of the walls and in turn it is minute enough to even go through the fuel filter. This in turn affected the driveability of the car;  We have just got it cleaned out now, by frequently changing the fuel filter
