Dodge Repair: DODGE NEON, dodge neon, torque settings

Question
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 96 DODGE NEON THE HEAD GASGET HAD JUST GOT REPLACED NEW. THE PEOPLE I BOUGHT IT FROM PUT IT ON NEW. AND THERE IS STILL OIL LEAKING FROM AROUND THE HEAD ABOUT A QUART A DAY.COULD THE HEAD BE CRACKED OR WARPED? THE CAR DOESNT MIX OIL AND WATER OR SMOKE OR OVERHEAT. IT JUST LEAKS OIL FROM THE HEAD.

Answer
Hi,
Are you sure it is leaking from the head or is it comming from the valve cover.  If the oil is comming from the head then the people undoubtably didn't have the head shaved before replacing it, or used the wrong torque settings or sequence to tighten the head.  The head should have at least been sent to a machine shop and checked before replacing the head gasket.
However to answer your question if oil is comming from under the head then the head is going to have to come back off.
