Dodge Repair: 1993 Dodge Intreped Alternator electronics, dodge intreped, autozone

Question
Hello, I've been driving my Dodge Intreped for about  9 months now. And then one day I pulled into a 7-11 and I can't start it. So I go to an autozone later that day and get the battery tested and they said it was fine, and then did a test for the alternator, and it came out bad and that I would need to buy a new one. So I buy a new one for about $150. Come home, install it. Thought everything was fine. The next day I go out about doing my daily routine. But then the day after that when I'm driving home from work, the car starts spurtering and I barely make it into a bank parking lot. So the next day I go back to the autozone(with car[got jump]), and they test the new alternator in car and say it tests out bad. SO they give me another one thinking maybe it was just a bad alternator. So after putting this new one in, go back and they test it right away and it came out negitive once again. So this leads them to say that it's most likely an electrical problem. That perhaps it's the cord that goes into the alternator, or perhaps something else.

On an unrelated(or maybe not) note. My horn won't honk, and my car radio won't play either. The radio was first, and it turns on, just the speakers won't play. And the horn was soon after that and just one day wouldn't work.

Answer
Hi,
Your will have to get a voltage mater.  Start at the battery and go through the charging system to see where your charging system is braking down.  You should check the output on the alternator for yourself to make sure that you are getting at least 13 volts on the output side.
