Dodge Repair: 95 Neon, internal control failure, cam sensor

Question
Was driving my 95 neon when it just quit in the middle of the street. It had 40,000 miles on it, FL car in great condition. All wires were recently replaced. I'm getting gas, there is spark, but, when I try the engine it's just not starting. Mechanic used starter fluid on it & it wouldn't stay started, kept sputtering out. He told me I needed a cam sensor, so, went to the junkyard & pulled one. Put it on the car today & it's still not starting. I pulled the diagnostic code and got a code 53 'internal control failure'. Any ideas?

Answer
You need to have it hooked up to a computer and check the Drive Train Control Module.  That's more than likley the culpret.  Also if it were the cam sensor it wouldn't start if you put jet fuel in it.  Find another MECHANIC.  If he charged you for this information go back and demand your money back.  Also, don't go back to them for the repair.  They sound like parts changers.  They change parts until they luck up on the problem.
