Dodge Repair: Dying Dodge, dodge dakota, distributor cap

Question
I have a 1988 Dodge Dakota. I have changed the fuel pump, distributor cap, and plug wires. Sometimes I can drive the truck over a week and it's fine. However, sometimes it just dies. I can be driving down the road and it will die on me. I changed the gas. But I can't figure it out. Can you help?

Answer
sorry, there are a million answers to that one.  But i'll go over the basic ones.  Does the truck start right back up?  Have you checked the rotor button to see if it hits in the right place I've found that the plug going to the coil has a tendency to get messed up.  If the spark plugs haven't been changed in a while it will cause the same problem.  I will need more information in order to help more.  Check these things and wright me back.
