Question -
I have a 1990 Dodge Daytona with a 3.0L V6. I run it Sat. nights at the local dirt track. One night it just died on the back stretch. Was running fine, then just shut down. Would turn and turn, but not fire. Wied fuel pump direct to toggel switch. It works fine. I dont think I'm getting spark. Where should I start. I can hear the fuel pump running but still will not fire. It was running great, and just died. I wasn't hit by anyone or anything. Could you please help.
Thank you.

Answer -
Does the coil have 12 volts going to it and ground?

Doug,
No, it does not have any juice at the coil. We replaced the ASD relay, and it still had no spark at the coil or beyond. What would we try next? Thanks for your help.

Answer
The coil gets power on the A61 circuit, so does the oxygen sensor and the injectors.  It's a dark green with a black tracer wire.  The computer is responsible for grounding each injector (actually paired) so just check for power at them too.  There's a connector on top of the rear valve cover.  It should have 4 wires in it.  One is this dark green/black and the other three are ground wires for each pair of cylinders.

Now... the factory wiring uses the A61 circuit to feed the fuel pump as well so if you've modified that then your fuel pump is running for other reasons.  If your fuel pump is still wired stock and it whines when you turn on the key then you're getting power FROM  the ASD relay to your fuel pump BUT it's not getting to the coil for some reason.  My guess at this point would be an unplugged/damaged connector somewhere on the upper back side of the enging, under the throttle body or perhaps battery acid has eatin through directly under the tray.

Check for power at the injectors, check for power at the ASD relay and let me know what you find.
