Dodge Repair: 97 Caravan with oil leak at end cover, oil leaks, small screws

Question
My 97 Caravan has a small oil leak at the lower end of the engine
on the driver's side.  It appears to be coming from what looks like a
stamped steel cover with a gasket on it.  Is it possible to remove
this cover with the engine in-situ to replace the gasket?  What is
behind this cover?  Is ther some piece of the engine that is being
held in place b the cover or is this simply a cover.  This cover is
held on by about 6 small screws.

Answer
I'll need to know which engine you have in the vehicle.  This year model is known for oil leaks in the three v6 engines and some 4 cylinder headgasket oil leaks.

Also, when you say it's the driver's side, do you mean middle of the vehicle, driver's side of the vehicle or truly the driver's side of the vehicle?

I'll need a bit more information but I think this is something I can help you with.
