Dodge Repair: Intrepid A/C, pressure transducer, 1999 dodge intrepid

Question
We have a 1999 dodge intrepid with 2.7 engine. The clutch on the A/C will not kick in. We have checked all relays and fuses and they are good. You can hot wire the AC and then the clutch will kick in and it will work. Where you plug the relay in, in the relay box, there is only juice on one side. More less we are not getting any juice to the compressor but don't know why? Does the A/C controls inside the car have any affect on there being juice on only one side? If not then what might are problem be? We have checked everything and we know the compressor is good. I just didn't know if there was a fuse or something that might be bad that we are overlooking on the car? Thanks for your help!

Hey Tyler,

Link no good, try this one:

Check out that response I gave a few days ago.  It's on a 300M which shares ALOT of body/powertrain/electrical parts with your intrepid.  It's possible that you have missed a fuse in the PDC (power distribution center) under the hood.  Typically, these fuses will blow because the cooling fan(s) start to either draw too much current or sieze up all together.

There's still the possibility that the a/c system is low in refrigerant which is another reason why the compressor will not come on by itself.

Sometimes we will even see the pressure transducer fail (three wire switch that screws in to an a/c line) causing the compressor not to come on.

Check those fuses again both with a test light and by moving them around.  I know the ones with a site glass can APPEAR to be good but just an ever so slight budge side to side will show that the fusible link is actually incomplete.  Let me know what you find and I'll help you out from there.
