Dodge Repair: Ball joints, dodge ram 2500, dodge ram 2500 diesel

We have a '92 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel truck. My husband has replaced the upper ball joints twice in the last six months. There is nothing wrong with the ball joints, but it wants to push itself up out of the control arm, and then hammer until it damages control arm. No vibration on the steering, so why is ball joint not staying seated. New control arm doesn't have threads, old one did, does this make a difference? Would it hurt to spot weld the top?

i would check the brand of ball joint u are useing are they made by mopar.

i would check the case where the uper controll is for the ball joint is the bole just a toch bigger than the ball joint.
