Dodge Repair: water pump ondakato 98 5.9, upper radiator hose, hose clamp


Question
the eazyiest way to change out a water pump on this little truck

Answer
Disconnect battery .
Drain cooling system.
Remove upper radiator hose clamp and hose at radiator
The thermal viscous fan drive is threaded to the water pump hub shaft.
Remove fan/viscous fan drive assembly from water pump by turning mounting nut counterclockwise as viewed from front. Threads are RIGHT HAND.
Place a bar or screwdriver between water pump pulley bolts Fan Blade and Viscous Fan Drive - to prevent pulley from rotating. Do not remove fan/viscous fan drive assembly from vehicle yet.
Remove fan shroud and fan blade/viscous fan drive assembly from vehicle as a complete unit
lean the fan blade up on a wall, do not lay it down.
remove the belt, and then the waterpump pulley bolts and pulley.

Remove lower radiator hose clamp and remove lower hose at water pump
Remove heater hose clamp and heater hose from heater hose
coolant return tube
Loosen heater hose coolant return tube mounting bolt and remove the tube. You should replace the o-ring.
Remove water pump mounting bolts (7 of them)
Loosen clamp at water pump end of bypass hose
pull the bypass hose from water pump while removing pump from vehicle
