Dodge Repair: 93 Dakota overheated, radiator hose, termostat

Question
My 93 Dakota 3.9l suddenly started to overheat today. I did notice it before it got to the hot level and pulled over. Steam was coming from the hood. When I popped the hood, I noticed the lower radiator hose had a small hole in it, near where it connects to the water pump. Ant-freeze was shooting over the motor causing the steam. I am wondering if it is just a busted hose or did something cause it to bust? t-stat, water pump?

Answer
first off replace the termostat at 4 bucks you cannot go wrong.
about the hose first feel the hose if it is mushy or soft, not firm and hard then the hose was needing replacement. dont forget to get air out of the cooling system now or it will continue to overheat.. find the highest spot in the cooling system then fill from there
