Dodge Repair: brakes, lower ball joints, master cylinder

Question
I have a 1999 dodge dakot r/t 5.9 and this is the 2nd time this problem has accured within 2 years of the first time it happened. The front passenger side brake locks up and wipes out the rotor and caliper and gets so hot it even splits the boots on the upper and lower ball joints. The 1st time it happened the dealer replaced all the parts, but this time they refuse to do any thing. Please help, I don't mind fixing it myself but I do not want to have to repace all the componets every 2 years. Thank You in advance.

Answer
Mike,
I dont know what would cause this, normally if the caliper doesnt release, the brakes then the brakes will heat up. Have you contact, Dodge directly? You may have a defect, with the vehicle. Im thinking maybe somewhere down the line from the brake line to the master cylinder, it doesnt release, the pressue when you remove your foot from the brake. If I was there, to look at it I probally could find the answer, for you.. Sorry, I couldnt help you more.. Ty
