Answer
Denise,

I would start with the basics, Are you getting fuel? Is the fuel filter stopped up? Are you getting fire at the plugs?

Since you are getting a map sensor code, You may want to check the vacume at the map sensor. and also the vacume line

I would also check the fuel presure. Sometimes you can get a bad pump.

A while back I had a car that was towed to my shop that was out of gas. turned out it had gas and it was something else that had broken at just the same time as the low fuel light came on.

Also there are some fuse links behind the battery make sure they are good and not burned.

Good luck and let me know what you find and we can try some more things,

Steve
