Dodge Repair: 2000 dodge intrepid starting problems, routine oil changes, 2000 dodge intrepid

Question
I have a 2000 dodge intrepid.  The problem is for the last 2 months and its getting worst, when I go to start my car, I put the key in and have to turn it 3 or 4 times give and take before it will start.  I get a clicking noise but it comes from the clock on the radio.  I have no power changes or lights fading.  At times I would have to hit my brake or turn on my lights before the car will start.  I had my battery checked and its good.  I have about 66.000 on the car.  Had my routine oil changes and just about a month ago had new plugs put in.  Occansonally I would get a weird domelight flicker while driving but that have only happened 4 or 5 times since i had the car and i bought it new.  I am puzzled so I hope you can help.
thanks

Answer
Jaycee,

The problem may be the starter, if when you try to start the car you hear a click,  most times this is the starter. Turn on the headlights and have someone look at the headlights while you start it. they should dim a little while you try to start it. if not then then starter is not turning.(turning the motor takes a lot of amps and you should see thisin the starter.)
