Dodge Repair: self reving engine, spare tank, brake booster

Question
Steve- well, the problem now is worse. Now I can't even get the truck to start. It sounds like it wants to start but can't. like it's out of gas. I put in a few gallons from a spare tank just to see. nothing. when you turn the key, it makes the sound like it's about to fully crank over, but just keeps trying to do it. also nothing when I tried to give it a little gas. All connections on throttle body are in. spark plugs and wires are in. HELP!

Answer
Sounds like you need to back up and check the basics.
Is the truck getting fuel?  you can try to spray some carb cleaner into the intake and see if it starts for a few seconds. If so then you have a fuel problem. if not then check for spark at the spark plugs.

If no spark you have a pickup, rotor or distribtor problem.

If you have spark and fuel then you may have a huge vacume leak.  EGR ,Brake booster, Intake Leaking.

This may have to go to a mechanic to get this taken care of , but try the few basics and see what you find.
