I have 95,000 miles currently on the van. I have had the trans rebuilt once at 81,000 miles and 10,000 miles later had the same problem and the trans shop said it was the same part that failed and charged me $500 for the part and labor was free but could not warranty it at all. 4,000 miles later the same thing happened. When it is in gear it only goes 5 miles and hour and you can rev it up as much as you want but ther is no accelleration. Throughout the time in between when you were stopped at a light in drive it would kick slightly evey so often.

Are there known problems with the trans on these types of vehicle? Any ideas what this is? The mechanic says it must be the computer chip because it keeps failing. I paid him 2 times when he said it was mechanical now he says it is electronic.

Any educated opinion would help give me amunition to get this resolved without any further major cost.

Thanks Pete!
