Dodge Repair: Coil, catastrophic failure, ford explorer

Question
Pete, I know you are a Dodge man but you may be able to help me.
I have a Ford Explorer (1999) with 93,000 miles. I recently had trouble getting it started when cold. It would run real rough for a minute and then get better as it warmed up. The check engine light eventually came on and stayed on. I took it to Autozone where they plugged in their handheld device and said cylinder 1 and 3 where misfiring. I figured since I had never tuned up the car I would replace the plugs and cables. I did so and it runs great! Except the check engine light is still on? I took it back over to Autozone and ran the test again. Cylinder 1 is still misfiring? They said it is probably the coil. They gave me a diagram and specs to test the resistence of the coils. The primary specs are 0.3 - 0.7 and all my readings were 0.9. The secondary specs are 10k - 15k and all my readings were 15k. Is the coil bad?
If so, will this lead to a catastrophic failure? In other words will it just die one day? Or will it slowly get worse?
I take AutoZones advice carefully!

Thanks for you help
