Eagle Repair: 1995 Eagle Talon ESi, eagle talon esi, 1995 eagle talon esi

Question
With approximately 68,000 mile on my 1995 Eagle Talon ESi, should the head gasket already require replacing?  I'm told that usually a head gasket job is not done until well over 75,000 miles.  Can you shed some light on this matter?  Thank you in advance.

Answer
If the motor overheats, it doesn't matter if it's 1 mile, or 100,000 miles. The head gasket CAN be blown if heated bad enough (as well as cracking the head which is even more $$$) Some cars require retorquing the head (not replacing the gasket. Just maintenance) at certain intervals. Not sure what it is on yours. Is the motor weeping oil out the side of the head? If that's all that's wrong, often just a retorque will cure it.
Turbo motors blow gaskets very often if the retorque isn't done!
