Eagle Repair: Running Problems, eagle talon esi, 1995 eagle talon

I have a non-turbo, 2wd, 2.0 liter 4cyl 1995 Eagle Talon ESI with 80k miles on it. The car starts great, it also runs great, as long as you drive on level terrain. When you drive the car up hill it starts to cut out very badly and the engine light comes on. When you stop at a redlight or something while its like this the rpm's rev up and down irratically also. It continues to run badly until you shut it off and start it back about 5 minutes later, however the engine light will stay on for a couple of days before going off. I have had this problem for over a year now. I have changed the plugs and plugwires, changed the fuel filter and air filter and put an oxygen sensor on it. What am I missing here? Any suggestions as to what my problem is?

Sounds like a very strange problem, I have unfortunately not encountered this problem before. I would suggest you check the fuel system completely and make sure there is enough pressure getting to the engine side. Then check all electrical connections and make sure they secure, maybe you can check the TPS to ensure the setting is correct or the injectors to make sure they are all functioning correctly.
