Ford Repair: Ford Trans. Problem, taurus 3, ford taurus

I have a 1995 Ford Taurus 3.0 V6 and the trans works fine until you come to a complete stop. About 40% of the time after a stop you loose all gears as if the trans goes into neutral.After setting a short time and playing with the throttle it comes back and the car drives normally until you come to a complete stop.Any ideas would be appreciated.I am a mechanic but auto trans are not in my realm. Simple fix?????.

simple fix yes, if you are able to disassemble the trans- the forward clutch in this trans was known to crack along the side. it was made of a thin aluminium and they went to a heavier metal. it going into neautral is the dead give away. replace this part with a newer update and you will get many years and mileage out of it.   you can also google.
