Ford Repair: checking and clearing ABS codes, hydraulic block, fuse panel

My 99 expedition has the ABS light on. How do I check the code than clear it

unfortunatley, abs codes can't be retrieve without purchasing a hand held scanner but, here are a couple things you can check. under the hood is a fuse panel, use a test light to check them all. also, not sure how familiar you are with the braking system but, locate the abs motor under the hood, should be located attached to the abs hydraulic block. you will see numerous brake lines going into this unit. attached to this unit is the abs motor. there should be a two wire connector going to this. be sure this connector is not broken or corroded. this is the most common concern for abs lights on expeditions. if that is the case, after the connector is epaired. a mile or two of driving should clear the light.
