Ford Repair: 96 Sable DOHC 6cyl 130,000 miles, pink tinge, radiator replacement

Brian:

I noticed a large stain on the drivers side under the front bumber which has a pink tinge and a similar small stain under the right side front bumber.

I also noticed the coolant is turning pink.

My first question is can the tranny fluid be contaminating the water and can the water also be contaminating the tranny. I don't see any small bubles in the tranny fluid.

My second q is what damage is likely if I drive it another 200 miles back to where I normally have repairs made.

I have seen this before, problem is not only are you seeing a leak from the trani cooler lines, your trans cooler is leaking internal to the radiator causing a cross contamination. complete flushing of the cooling sustem will be need as well as radiator replacement. as far as driving to your garage. hard to say but, if it's not in city driving where the trans will be shiftig alot of gears. i'd say go but not much further....
