Ford Repair: Heater core, crown vic, wire bundles

Question
QUESTION: Hello again,
The heater core on my 2000 Crown Vic is leaking coolant into the passenger floor when using the A/C heater. I'm confident the heater core is leaking. I know the dash needs to be removed. I used to turn wrenches a long time ago and I'm confident taking on the job. I was able to partially remove the dash because I got stuck with two wiring harasses. I could not figure out how to remove the wire bundle that enters through the passenger side floor board into the dash, just to the right of the A/C controls. The other was the big bundle on the drivers side that eventually runs into the upper side of the dash. This was heart breaking to only move the dash out and run into these two wire bundles.

How do I at least get the passenger side wiring undone so I could position the dash out of the way enough to get the heater core out?

Thanks again,
JG

ANSWER: hello, if you look near where the heater blower is under the hood, you'll see a couple of wiring connectors with numerous wires in each connector. disconnect these. remove right front wheel and splash shield. there you will find where these connectors will feed back into the pass compartment. hope this answers your question. if not e-mail me at badkidskid@hotmail.com for a quicker response... take care    -b-

QUESTION: Hi Brian,
Thanks again for the intructions for the passenger side wiring. How about the drivers side wiring, is that a pull through the firewall as well?

Thanks again,
JG

Answer
the connector for the drivers side will come out either of two ways, either under the hood on the drivers side you will see a few large connectors going into the pass compartment with 10mm heads on the connectors. unscrew these, disconnect them  and the connectors should push into the pass compartment- you may have to use a little force
