Ford Repair: 96 ford, ford f 150, trailer harness

i have a 1996 ford f 150 i just started popping taillight fuses any ideas

there are a couple ways to approach this. first, do you have cab lights ? if so- remove each one and check for wire chaffing. second, half way down the bed of the truck on the frame rail. there should be a connector you can seperate that will turn all the rear tail lights off as well as power to the trailer wiring if you have it. this will help to isolate the short from front to rear. if sperating this connector stops the short, then the problem is in either rear light or the trailer harness, start there and get back to me.. happy holidays.. -b-
