Ford Repair: 2000 Ford Explorer, vacuum line, vacuum leak

Question
Would bad EVAP code make it not idle?

Answer
yes and no. if the vapor management valve ( located under the hood on the drivers side, one vacuum line coming from the engine another coming out of the valve going under vehicle to gas tank ) was stuck open then yes, this vacuum leak would cause an evap code and a stall codition. is this a 4.0 litre or a 5.0- if it is a 4.0 i would be more inclined to believe that the idle valve is stuck or, there is a large vacuum line that comes from the rear of the engine of pass side  that goes to the front of the egine has collapsed or has a hole in it. these are the most commo cocerns. typically evap leaks on 2000 explorers are a result of a cracked aroud filler neck where the gas cap sits. if you take the cap off and look at filler neck, feel the edge of it you may find a crack
