Ford Repair: 07 Expedition EL, coolant level, ford customer relations

Question
My 07 Expedition starting having a loud "ticking" noise in the engine. I took it my local dealer and they advise I have a warped intake manifold from over heating even though the on board computer shows no events of over heating nor have I ever had a warning sensor say it was over heating. They are refusing to honor my extended warranty because they say it is owner error. What could have caused this issue and why would my computer not show it had ever over heated?

Answer
first, i need to know what engine is in this vehicle ? i assume it's a 4.6 litre or a 5.4 litre with a 3 valve engine. second, i've done this a long time and have never heard of a warped intake manifold. third, had the engine overheated. there would be a code stored in the computer of an over heat condition. If the vehicle over heated, again, not something you could have caused- either a stuck thermostat or low coolant level caused the over heat condition. nothing you could have done but if you had low coolant, it would have been caused by a failed gasket which most warranties cover. i recomend calling the ford customer relations. if you have your owners manaul, the 800 number is in it or call your warranty company
