Ford Repair: early ford bronco header installation, early ford bronco, stock exhaust manifold

Question
I removed my stock exhaust manifold and installed a set of headers.  The stock manifold had a copper tube coming out of it going to a thermostatic choke.  Should I go to a manual choke setup or is there a retrofit that can be used for the existing choke setup.  If I go with a manual choke, do I remove the thermostatic choke to hook it up?  This is a model 2150 carburetor on a 76 bronco 302.
Thank you.

Answer
I would go with an electric choke, one wire and your done. Ford tied the choke into the stator wire of the alternator to provide the correct voltage and only heat the choke with the engine running. If you use a manual choke, yes you should remove the thermostatic part.

Electric should be your best bet, I'm pretty sure there is a kit available. Ford used that carb for a long time.
