Ford Repair: 95 Merc Vilager eng missing, cat converter, fuel rail

Question
My daughter has a 95 Merc V6 Villager. The car has a miss so I checked it out. I replaced the spark plugs, dist cap, rotor and fuel filter PCV. (they should have replaced a long time ago ) After parts were replaced same problem. My daughter took it to a local mech and after he checked it out, said it was the fuel pump so it was replaced still no change. Years ago I had a Ply Voyager which reacted the same way. missing when given it gas or missing when driving. Well it wound up being the cat converter. Well maybe this was the same thing. So I
dropped the exhaust on the Merc an there was  no change. Any ideas please need the help.

Thank You

Answer
John, based on my limited knowledge, check the injectors... First used an injector cleaner that you place in the tank.  If it does not work, remove the inejectors, cleans them and if you can have them tested for proper operation.  While they're removed, check/clean the fuel rail.  My guess, your problem is somewhere in the injection system....
