Ford Repair: over heating, ford probe, water pump

Hello I have a 1995 Ford Probe the temperature started rising a couple of days ago then would go back to normal then yesterday it just flat out tried to over heat so I changed the thermostat and filled it with coolant but that did not fix the problem, the fan comes on as soon as you start the car and pretty much runs the whole time. Do you think that the water pump has gone out?

I think you're right, the water pump is going bad.  However, normally the bearing goes bad on the water pump.  Do you hear grinding noises?  Also, does the temp. goes down when you drive, even a little bit?  If these are the cases, then mostly likely the pump need to change....
