Ford Repair: 2002 Ford Explorer pressure plate and clutch, clutch replacement, clutch pressure plate

Question
Pressure plate and the clutch are engaged but no power to the transmission and engine doesn't die. What could be the cause?

Answer
Hello Renee, It may be that the material may so worn that it's not making contact with the flywheel. If a clutch has the material worn down to "grip" then the rest of the transmission will not turn to make it go. It sounds like from your description that you be due for a clutch replacement. Hope this helps. Thanks Tony
