Ford Repair: 2002 (or 01) Ford Focus - not been started over 1 yr, oil change service, slow trickle

Question
My MIL passed away last year and wasn't driving for 6mths before that.  I know for sure her car (I believe is an 02 Focus) hasn't been started in over a year b/c the battery was dead.  My question is it ok to jump it (or just get a new battery)and start it?  I worry about lubrication of parts upon ignition since it has sat so very long.  Please advise your suggestion on the best course of action.  Thanks much!

Answer
DON'T JUMP START IT! You did the right thing by asking. Either slow trickle charge or just replace the battery first. Before cranking do these minimal things. Replace the fuel and air filters, if you are able. Change the oil, same. If you can't do this, let the car run, and drive it straight to your local oil change service. You should be good with the exception of a belt or brake hose.
