Ford Repair: Fuel pump Problems - Murcury Cougar, fuel pumps, dash unit

Thanks for taking time out to answer questions for people.

Would a fuel pump going out make my electrical dash unit not light up or work?

I'm trying to drop the gas tank to change my fuel pump, is there anything special i should know before hand?
I plan on changing the entire sending unit, are there any special tools that i'm going to need?

Hello Dustin, Fuel pumps on cougars- NO FUN !!!! The fuel pump will not cause the dash to malfunction and before you do the fuel pump check on fords website to see if there is a possible
owner notification available to replace the fuel pump. Thanks Tony
