Ford Repair: 2005 Ford Mustang gauges, carpet matting, water leaks

My temperature gauge has been intermittent. Often it shows the car not heating up. The AF level is full and the sending wire does not seem damaged. Yesterday, my fuel gauge stopped working. It just shows empty. I have gas and the low fuel idiot light is not on.

Remove the front interior kick panels and see if the carpet matting is wet under the front carpet areas after a good rain. A water leak intrusion in the 'A' post or roof panel areas can cause a condition such as this by entering into an electronic module. Let me know if you find the floor matting wet. There is a TSB that covers this issue if your matting is wet.
