Ford Repair: 1978 Mercury Bobcat, mercury bobcat, ford dealership

Question
I have a 78 Mercury bobcat with air at a ford dealership t have the heater core replaced.  I recieved a call from them stating that they do not know how to remove it and wanted me to help do the research.  they are afraid that they will have to remove the windshield and dash to get to it.  Is there a place to find the procedure for the replacement of the heater core?

Answer
Well, the first thing I would do is to call another dealership. I am certain that they will be able to tell you the same thing as I am about to. Any garage/dealership will have the equivalent of Mitchell service manuals on CD-Rom. You can find the books at your local library. That being said, the last thing I would ever do is say something to my customer as you have been told. Quite frankly, it is preposterous. I have never heard anything quite like that to be honest. I would seriously consider changing where my repairs are done. You should have no problem finding a garage with the ability to do this.
