Ford Repair: timing, interference engine, 1995 ford escort

Question
I have a 1995 ford escort 1.9 4 cylinder seems the timing belt slipped, car ran fine started idling rough, smoke started coming from the front (pulley  side) smelt like burnt oil.timing belt is cracked and worn, missing some teeth on timing belt. how do I retime motor as of now motor has compression, spark but will not start,is it possible valves were damaged,is this an ignition problem also

Answer
You should be fine. That engine is not an interference engine, meaning that if the belt slips or breaks, it doesn't warp the valves. The best advice that I can give you would be one of two things. Either to buy a vehicle repair manual by Haynes at your local parts store. Or to go down to you're local library and make copies of the pages that you need from their complete index of Mitchell service manuals. Either of the two will have very detailed instructions and illustrations.
