Ford Repair: trouble with 98 Ford Explorer, luck chris, proplem

Question
My 6cyl '98 Ford Explorer starts just fine...but when I let off the accelerator, the engine dies immediately.  It's as if there rpms are too low to keep the engine running.  What should I check for?

Answer
hey there, there are a few possibilites to this but the most common proplem would be a fualty IAC motor, (idle air control) it is located on the top of the throttle body and is very easy to change. it is held on with two 8 mm bolts and has one connector, check that and let me know what happens. good luck
