Ford Repair: engine, electrical harnesses, luck chris

hey... my engine  has a rod knock and i was told i need a new engine.. i found one with 30,000 miles on it but its a 2.0L instead of a 2.0L engine, also mine is an 01' Focus SE and its out of and 03' hatchback Focus? i guess my question is.. would that work? my other question is if it doesnt can i replace mine(SOHC) with a DOHC?

hey there,it is possible to swap the two motors, BUT it is alot of extra work, all electrical harnesses and sensors are going to have to be swapped, as well as the instrument cluster and the power train control module, I believe you would save your self alot of headaches to get the same motor, it doesnt mater what type of focus it comes out of, as long as it is the same style motor going in, good luck
