Ford Repair: 2005 Mercury Montaineer accelleration surge, mercury montaineer, interstate traffic

My 2005 Mountaineer has a tendency to "surge" as I move into interstate traffic. The dealer says it's bad plug wires - not sure that makes sense to me.

did the dealer check it or are they guessing by your description-bad wires should give you a jerking sensation when you accelerate or go uphill-as far as making sense to you if may not but if you have it somewhere you trust and they have checked it go with them on it.
