Ford Repair: transmission spitting fluid, tape teflon, coolant leak

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2002 v6 4.2 f150 it has 104k mils on it and what it's doing is it every so often it spits transmission fluid out of the vent tube while it's going down the road i have changed the filter and was told it could be getting to hot so i put a cooler on and it still does it and my fuel mileage has also dropped a good bit don't know if it's related and it might do it going just 5 miles up the street or it might not do it for 300 if there's anything you know i can do to fix this i thank you for your time

ANSWER: A cooler is never a bad idea. Especially on any truck. I am concerned about the transmission spitting up it's fluid. Let me know how it does after the cooler if you don't mind.

QUESTION: I have already put the transmission cooler on about 4 months ago i am wondering if maybe it's something wrong or stopped up when it goes through the radiator first? because back last year i had a coolant leak where the steel line goes into the motor and was told that was a common problem and to put some stop leak in it could that be the problem? it still does it about the same and it's a good size cooler.i have checked the fluid and it's where it needs to be and it's not burnt and it's still real clean

Answer
Make sure that the fittings are proper thread size, use plumbers tape/ Teflon tape as needed. There is something going on inside the transmission causing the fluid to spew out. I wish I could be more definitive, but I am certain that a tear down maybe required. Visit a few transmission shops, telling them the same thing that you told me. See what they say.
