Question
i have a 1998 ford taurus v8 sho.the other day i went to start it and it was extremely difficult to start.after it started it would not idle .it ran very rough with me holding slight pressure on the accelerator..it was like it was running on 4-6 cylinders instead of 8. very bad miss. i changed the plugs in it did not fix it.changed the fuel filter which was extremely dirty , still didnt fix it. no check engine light.hooked up a code scanner, no codes. checked the fuel rail seems like it is getting gas. iam at witts end please give me some ideas

Answer
Getting gas, and getting the right amount of gas are two different things. Nice car btw.Test the fuel system with the proper equipment, such as one you can pick up from the parts store. It's expensive, close to what the shops charge. However, it is very easy to check. You will also have the tool, for free more or less. Check the pressure when you accelerate, if you do buy the tool. Let me know the results. Most rough running vehicles without a check engine lights, have fuel system problems.
