Ford Repair: the engine light, emissions control, component failure

I, went to pass the smoke check, but the light of the engine doesn't turn on at any time, so it did not pass, I want to know what can i do, my van is a ford 250/98

hey there, i dont know if there is much you can do yourself, first of all the check engine light will have to be scanned by someone with a ford scanner. the check engine light half the time will only come on if there is an emissions control failure or component failure, can you send me the results for the smoke test?
