Ford Repair: brake lights, luck chris, typical problem

i have a 98 ford escort sport.the brake lights stay on 24-7. i have to take a terminal off the battery to get the brake lights to turn off.do you know what might be causing this. the brake use is still good. and turns of when i take the fuse out. do you know what this might be and how to fix it?????????

hey there, bihind the brake pedal there is a switch that comes into contact with the brake lever, make sure the pin on that switch is not seized up, that is the most typical problem i see on thee vehicles, if it is seized it might be a good idea just to install a new one istead of trying to repair it, as they are inexpensive any how, good luck
