Ford Repair: 1996 Ford Bronco, lithium grease, dashboard switch

Question
Hello Mark,

The tailgate window on my 1996 Ford Bronco will go up and down quite easily using the dashboard switch, but will no longer work using the rear keyed switch on the tailgate itself.  My Dad and I have taken the tailgate apart somewhat in the past to lubricate the motor arm with lithium grease, and it is running up and down quite well now.

Question one is, can you suggest something that might repair the tailgate keyed switch, and question two is, is there some way to override whatever keeps us from "raising" the window glass when the tailgate is in an opened position?  We have been trying to work on the tailgate from inside the truck, while closed, and it is quite difficult.  We cannot seem to find any sort of override switch.

Thank you!

Answer
if you can reach motor you can unplug it and jump it to get window to raise in open position but be careful not to break glass need to give it support while open as far as switch i haven't worked on but one and that was an 87 model so i won't venture a guess-looking at wiring diagram power goes thru latch switch after going thru key switch before going to motor-if latch switch is bad key switch won't work so check for switch at tailgate latch and lube latches with wd40 or equivelent.
